RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Kevin M. Moore has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 71; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A former Chicago newspaper reporter and decorated military veteran, Kevin M. Moore was the loving husband of Constance; and
WHEREAS, A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Kevin M. Moore enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and was severely wounded during ground combat in the Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, Kevin M. Moore was a recipient of the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Purple Heart and a valor citation for his bravery; and
WHEREAS, Known for his grace under pressure in an often chaotic business,
Kevin M. Moore attended Northwestern University and earned a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism; and
WHEREAS, From 1974 to 1986, Kevin M. Moore worked for the Chicago Sun-Times where he was Editor of the Weekend Plus entertainment section; and
WHEREAS, Kevin M. Moore moved with his wife to Wilmette in 1976; and
WHEREAS, From 1986 until his retirement in 2008, Kevin M. Moore was the Deputy Entertainment Editor of the Chicago Tribune; and
WHEREAS, As Editor of the newspaper's Tempo Section, Kevin M. Moore was responsible for producing a daily general features section; and
WHEREAS, Kevin M. Moore also served as Deputy Editor of the Sunday Arts section for the Chicago Tribune and reviewed mysteries for the Books section; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Kevin M. Moore serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Kevin M. Moore to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Kevin M. Moore will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
