SALUTE TO PETER MASTERS ON THE OCCASION OF MASTER RESTAURANT'S 30™ ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, Masters Restaurant, one of Chicago's finest and most popular restaurants, is celebrating its 30th Anniversary May 18, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Peter Masters, an upstanding citizen and member of his community, is a pillar among the businessmen of his Southwest Side neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Peter Masters opened Masters Restaurant May 18, 1981. Under it's owner, Peter Masters, Masters Restaurant has provided itself a most attractive restaurant, bringing many visitors and diners into its grateful neighborhood. Among the dignitaries who frequented the restaurant over its 30 years of operation has been the late Mayor Harold Washington, Congressman William Lipinski, Congressman Phil Bianco, and United State Senator Charles Percy. Mr. Masters has also had the pleasure of meeting Congressman Ferry (1981), President Ronald Regan, Governor Jim Edgar, Governor James Thompson, Secretary of State, Jesse White and Mayor Richard M. Daley; and
WHEREAS, Peter Masters and his wife, Anatasia have been happily married for forty-eight years. They are blessed with two loving daughters, Nikea and Sylvia and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Peter Masters was a founder of UBAM, formerly Midway Business Association and worked closely with the former Alderman William Krystiniak. In 2010 Peter was recognized by Mayor Richard M. Daley for being a community activist; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Peter Masters and Masters Restaurant located near Midway Airport, have established themselves as a true friend to its grateful community;
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Zalewski, Alderman of the 23rd Ward, has apprised this august body of this mainstay of his community; now therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 13th day of April, 2011 AD, do hereby express our heartiest congratulations to Peter Masters and Masters Restaurant on...
