WHEREAS, Mary J. Balestri has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mary J. Balestri (nee Aiello) Beloved wife of the late August J. "Augie"; loving mother of the late Janice (Carmen) Taglia, and Joni (Steve) Stephens; devoted daughter of the late Vito and Catherine Aiello; cherished grandmother of Kim (Benton), Steve (Jackie), Alicia (Paul), Carmen (Beth), Nicholas (Laura), Anthony, Christopher (Marta), and Janessa! adored great-grandmother of Gianna, Delilah, Augie, Alaina, and Evelyn; dear sister of the late Sam (Betty), Vito (Marie), Jimmy, Joseph, and Dominick Aiello; fond aunt, cousin, and friend to many; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Mary J. Balestri to her family members, friends, and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in a way they will never forget; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirty-first of October 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Mary J. Balestri and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
