RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, John Feipel has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 65 to his eternal reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, John is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jean (Kitchen) Feipel; his daughter Angela (Josh) Pagliaro and grandsons, Trevor and Liam Pagliaro; sisters, Barbara Lockwood (Scott Appleby) and Cathy Allen (Gary). John was uncle of many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews and leaves behind a legion of friends from the "hood". John will live in our hearts forever; and

 

WHEREAS, John was born to Eileen (Murphy) and Benjamin Feipel on July 27,1955 in Little Company of Mary Hospital; John was a native of Canaryville and a proud member ofthe broader Southwest Side community; A devout Catholic baptized and formed in the faith at St. Gabriel Church, he served the City of Chicago for 33 years as a skilled laborer for the Chicago Water Department; "Bird," as he was known, was an avid bicyclist joining friends on rides along Lake Shore Drive and into Indiana and Michigan; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared John to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty fourth of March 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of John Feipel and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Feipel.
