RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE 100™ ANNIVERSARY OF 219 EAST LAKE SHORE

DRIVE

WHEREAS, 219 East Lake Shore Drive is a luxury residential building located in the Streeterville neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, The building was designed by the architectural firm of Fugard & Knapp and was completed in 1922, the classical architecture and vintage finishes are mixed with modem amenities and fixtures in the residences; and

WHEREAS, The building is twelve stories and was converted into condominiums in 1988, it was originally built with 44 units but many have been combined, today the building is home to twenty-seven households; and

WHEREAS, The building is located steps from the world-class shops on Oak Street and Michigan Avenue and endless options for restaurants and entertainment as well as Oak Street Beach; and

WHEREAS, The building is a historic fixture of Lake Shore Drive scenery; and

WHEREAS, The residents and building staff create a vibrant community within the building and the building staff are both professional and personable, and the owners are accomplished professionals, civic minded, active in the community and passionately invested in their homes, the building and the neighborhood; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-sixth day of October, 2022, do hereby recognize the 100^th Anniversary of 219 East Lake Shore Drive; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be sent to the residents of 219 East Lake Shore Drive.
