RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, John "Red" and Mary Healy will celebrate the joyous occasion of their 5(fh Wedding Anniversary on July 29, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, John "Red" Healy was raised in Visitation Parish in Chicago and served his country in the United States Air Force; and
WHEREAS, John "Red" Healy was honorably discharged in 1965 and joined the Chicago Police Department the following year; and
WHEREAS, John "Red" Healy met his future wife while visiting Northern Illinois University in DeKalb where she was completing her degree in education; and
WHEREAS, John "Red" and Mary Healy were married on July 29, 1967 at St. James Church in Arlington Heights, the suburb where Mary was raised; and
WHEREAS, John "Red" and Mary Healy settled in the Beverly community and she worked as a teacher before raising a loving family of three children, Erin, Megan and the late Ryan (C.P.D.); and
WHEREAS, John "Red" Healy ably served for 27 years as a member of the Chicago Police Department and retired in 1993 as a Sergeant assigned to the Detective Division; and
WHEREAS, John "Red" Healy later worked as Director of Security Operations for 12 years with Marquette Bank in Chicago before serving for five years as an Investigator with the Illinois Secretary of State's Office; and
WHEREAS, Throughout their marriage, John "Red" and Mary Healy have been an inspiration to family and friends with their deep and lasting love for each other; now, therefore
SE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-sixth day of July, 2017, do hereby express our congratulations to John "Red" and Mary Healy on the occasion of their 5Cfh Wedding Anniversary and do hereby wish them much joy and good health in the years to come; and
SE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable parchment copy of this resolution be presented to John "Red" and Mary H/aly. /
