RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Lollie L. McKeon has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Lollie L. McKeon was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph T. and Margaret E.; and
WHEREAS, Lollie L. McKeon was the dear sister of Thomas J. and the late Lieutenant Joseph T., Jr. (U.S.M.C.); and
WHEREAS, Lollie L. McKeon was a veteran member of the United States Foreign Service who ably served for many years in London, England; and
WHEREAS, Lollie L. McKeon was the first female President of the Rotary International and a Past Vice President of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, A former Director of the U.S.O., Lollie L. McKeon was a tireless advocate for veterans; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Lollie L. McKeon serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Lollie L. McKeon will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Lollie L. McKeon imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-fourth day of July, 2013, do hereby commemorate Lollie L. McKeon for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lollie L. McKeon.
