Title: Tribute to late Milton Johnson

WHEREAS, On Tuesday, August 6, 2013, the Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom called Milton Johnson to his eternal journey; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman of the 18th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Milton was born in Friars Point, Mississippi on December 30, 1946: He was the first of four children born to Ulysses and Flora Johnson; and

WHEREAS, At a very young age, Milton and his parents moved from Friars Point Mississippi to Chicago, Illinois in 1947. A few years later, Milton was enrolled in and attended Chicago Public Schools until his high school graduation from Francis W. Parker High School in 1966; and

WHEREAS, Milton was a member of Normal Park Baptist Church in Chicago, during his early years. He began serving his country immediately after his high school graduation. Milton was drafted by the United States Army in 1966. He served as a faithful soldier and citizen through the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1970. After Milton returned from the Army he continued his education at Kennedy King College, where he earned his Associates Degree; and

WHEREAS, He was dedicated, dependable and a hard worker. He began and ended his life long career with the City of Chicago, where he worked for over thirty two years. He never married, but was loved dearly by his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Milton was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ulysses M.; and leaves behind to cherish his precious memories his brothers, Phillip and Herman (Victoria); two devoted sisters-in-laws, Theresa and Barbara; four nieces, Keesha, Trina, Eunice (Louis) and Rhyia; an uncle; aunts; and a host of great nieces, nephews, family and friends; now, therefore,
