At the request of the Commissioner of Fleet and Facility Management, I transmit herewith ordinances authorizing the execution of lease agreements.
Your favorable consideration of these ordinances will be appreciated.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a home rule unit of government by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970, and, as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City previously approved the execution of a first amendment to a lease with the City as Tenant and the Illinois Retail Merchants Association as Landlord for continued use of approximately 800 square feet of office space located at 216 Broadway, Suite 105, Springfield, Illinois, pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the City Council on June 28, 2017 and published in the Journal of Proceedings of the City Council for such date at pages 51318 through 51325; and
WHEREAS, that first amendment to lease was never executed, as the City wishes to lease a smaller space in Suite 103 in the building at 216 Broadway; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago and the Illinois Retail Merchants Association wish to enter into a first amendment to lease for the smaller space in Suite 103; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1: On behalf of the City as Tenant, the Commissioner of the Department of Fleet and Facility Management is authorized to execute a First Amendment to Lease with Illinois Retail Merchants Association, as Landlord, for use of approximately 100 square feet of office space located at 216 Broadway, Suite 103, Springfield, Illinois; such First Amendment to Lease to be approved as to form and legality by the Corporation Counse...
