TRIBUTE TO LATE NAKESHA LYNN JOHNSON
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Nakesha Lynn Johnson, most beloved citizen and friend of her community, to her everlasting reward, Saturday, August 10, 2013; and
WHEREAS.This august body has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Carrie M. Austin, Alderman of the 34th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on April 7, 1992, Nakesha Lynn was born at Bethany Hospital to Gwendolyn Johnson and Christopher Stanciel and was blessed in 1994 to be reared and later adopted by her Aunt Ora Dean Wash-Underwood. After her mother, Ora's death in 2005, Nakesha and her siblings were parented by their oldest sister, Carolyn Spencer, and
WHEREAS, Nakesha accepted Christ at an early age, she was a faithful member of the First Corinthians M.B. Church under the leadership of Bishop Clause E. Tears, where she served as a junior usher and in both the junior and combined adult choirs, and
WHEREAS, Nakesha graduated from Ralph H. Metcalfe Elementary School and Percy L. Julian High School. She was known by her family and friends as Ke-Ke, she was loud, outgoing, funny and full of laughter and life. She had a passion for cooking and dreams to become a licensed cosmetologist, and
WHEREAS, Nakesha was an active member of the Greater Roseland Community Committee where she served as a board member for the Youth Voices Against Violence Organization, Although her life was cut short, she leaves a strong lasting impact on everyone whose lives she touched; and
