City Council November 15, 2012
Resolution
WHEREAS, Marta Kolejda Almodovar was born in Bialystok in the province of Poland. She took a special interest in constitutional law, and received a Master of Law Degree at the University of Warsaw; and,
WHEREAS, After Marta completed her studies she moved to Chicago and has been working for the Circuit Court of Cook County and is currently Administrative Supervisor at the Mandatory Arbitration Center; and,
WHEREAS, Marta is an active member of the Advocates Society, Copernicus Foundation, Chicago Intercollegiate Council, Amicus Poloniae Legal Clinic and the Polish American Congress; and,
WHEREAS, In November 2010, Marta received the Distinguished Service Award from Chicago Volunteer Legal Services; and,
WHERAS, Marta has organized many events, such as the Polish-English DUI seminar, an interview with the Honorable Timothy C. Evans, Chief Judge of Circuit Court of Cook County, the "King's Dinner," an event honoring the 60th anniversary ofthe cultural, business, government, and educational exchange, and the Chicago Quo Vadis Leadership Conference on August 24-26, 2012; and,
WHEREAS, Marta Kolejda Almodovar is being recognized for her work and dedication on promoting and educating the Polish Community in Chicago; and now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth day of November 2012 A.D., do hereby congratulate Marta Kolejda Almodovar on her dedication to the Polish Community; and,
