RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Edward A. Radek, Sr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of ninety-one; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Hinsdale, Edward A. Radek, Sr., was a widely admired entrepreneur and the loving husband for sixty-nine years of Stephanie; and
WHEREAS, Edward A. Radek, Sr., was the much-adored father of Edward, Jr., Dennis and Janice and the grandfather of five to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, One of twelve children of Polish immigrants, Edward A. Radek, Sr., was raised in the Archer Heights neighborhood and graduated from Kelly High School; and
WHEREAS, Edward A. Radek, Sr., bravely served his country during World War II as a soldier in the 6th Armored Division under General GeOrge Patton; and
WHEREAS, Taking advantage of a $500 grant from the G.I. Bill, Edward A. Radek, Sr., co-founded along with his older brother, John, Ready Metal Manufacturing on the Southwest Side, a company which once employed as many as five-hundred people; and
WHEREAS, Following a long and highly successful career during which his company served clients such as McDonald's and Target, Edward A. Radek, Sr., retired in 1998; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Edward A. Radek, Sr., serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Edward A. Radek, Sr., to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Edward A. Radek, Sr., was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Edward A. Radek, Sr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
