ORDERED, That the Director of Revenue is hereby authorized and directed to issue the following licenses and permits, free of charge to Mayor's Office of Special Events, for the special event "Assumption Church Annual Homecoming Celebration and Parish Picnic," scheduled to take place on August 14, 2011 between the hours of 7:00a.m. and 7:00p.m. at 325 West Illinois Street.
Tent and Canopy Permits, Itinerant Merchant License Fees and Temporary Food Vendor Licenses Fees, Special Event Permit, Street Closure Permit, and all other permits and fees related to this event

Dear Alderman Reilly,
For the past several years you and your staff have been very helpful in facilitating our Church's annual Homecoming Celebration and Parish Picnic. As this annual event has become increasingly popular with our parishioners and the friends of Assumption; we are hoping for your support andrassistance again this.year.
Specifically we are requesting that Illinois Street between Orleans and the entrance to our parking lot near Franklin be closed between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm on Sunday ; August 14, 2011." We expect to erect several tents in front of the church on Illinois Street where we would welcome parishioners past and present and others residents from the neighborhood. The main events outside would take place during the afternoon when there would be complimentary catered food, beverages, and live music.
Assumption Church has been part of the River North community since 1881, when the parish was founded to serve the Italian immigrants who had settled in the area north of the river following the Great Fire. Through the many changes.in this community over the past 130 years, Assumption ...
