MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Lorraine F. Mullen, nee Rouleau, on March 7, 2014 at the age of eighty-nine; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Lorraine, born on August 24, 1924, was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Mullen; loving mother of James (Lucie), John (Carol Mallen), Francis (Julie) and the late Daniel; dear grandmother of Ryan, Andrew and Katie; fond sister of the late Marion (Stephen) Malato; special aunt of many nieces and nephews; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Lorraine leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS An active and vital member of her community, Lorraine lived life to the fullest. As a teacher and artist, she was always interested in people, making many lifelong friends, touching the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,
 
Be II Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirtieth day of April 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Lorraine F. Mullen and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be II Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the tamily of Lorraine F. Mullen as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
