MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR BRENDAN HOLMES
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the death of Brendan Holmes at the age of 81; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39lh Ward; and
WHEREAS, Brendan was a native of Ardnaree, Ballina, Co. Mayo, Ireland and was the beloved husband of the late Maty nee Healy; loving father of Brian, Kevin and Denis; cherished son of the late Patrick and Margaret nee Barrett; dear brother of Thomas, Peggy, Maureen, Winnifred, Seamus, Bernadette, Brian and the late Sean, Evelyn and Paddy; and a fond uncle and treasured friend to many; and
WHEREAS, Brendan touched the lives of all who knew him through his love and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this first day of November, 2016, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Brendan Holmes; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution are presented to the family of Brendan Holmes as a sign of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
