MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Marlene J. Majeske on August 8, 2014 at the age of seventy-two; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Marlene, born on February 14,1942, adored wife of Joseph; proud and devoted mother of Fayette (Tony) Quintus, Donna (Phil) Wiemerslage, Joseph (Lisa) and Jeana (Benjamin) Marqueda; treasured grandmother of Meghan (Rick), Peter (Kathleen), Molly (Aaron), Thomas, Timothy, Joseph, Rebecca, Sofia and Luke; cherished great grandmother of Lily, Nolan, Ricky Bear and Norah; loyal sister of Geraldine Fricke; and
WHEREAS, Marlene was a heroic and strong woman who's presence was honored by all and has inspired many with her strength and endurance through challenges in her life; and
WHEREAS, Marlene will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her love for her family and friends and for the wisdom she shared with many. She will be deeply missed but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eighth day of October, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Marlene J. Majeske and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marlene J. Majeske.
