RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Notre Dame High School for Girls is a private, Roman Catholic, all-girls college prep high school located on the northwest side of Chicago. Notre Dame High School for Girls was founded in 1938 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and in 2009, was incorporated by the Archdiocese of Chicago, making it part of the St. Ferdinand Parish; and,
WHEREAS, This year marks a milestone as Notre Dame High School for Girls will celebrate 78 years of educating young women and preparing them for the future; and,
WHEREAS, On Friday, May 8, 2015, Notre Dame High School for Girls will be holding their annual "A Night in Blue and White" honoring Mrs. Linda Ward (Class of 1972), Mrs. Sophia Kass, and the Honorable Ariel E. Reboyras. Proceeds from this event will benefit their Notre Dame Operation Fund. This fund supports their world-class faculty, student services, and provides financial aid for students; and,
WHEREAS, The Sisters have given their time, talent and treasure for the past 78 years so that young women are empowered by knowledge through education, and it is with great pride that Notre Dame High School for Girls continues their mission and philosophies and teaching of St. Julie Billiart; and, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 6th day of May 2015 A.D., do hereby offer our heartiest congratulations and commend the Sisters of Notre Dame High School for Girls for their dedication and service; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation to Notre Dame High School for Girls.
