RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, On October 5, 2015, West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders is hosting it's annual "Anti-Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention - Community Day," a collaborative event with the West Garfield Park Youth Council and other Westside Community Stakeholders and Partners, at the Allison Foundation for Better Living; and
WHEREAS, I, Alderman Emma Mitts, would like to pay tribute to Westside Violence and Substance abuse Prevention, on the occasion of this well-deserved honor for their many years of stellar dedication and commitment to the Westside of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, the Mission Statement of "Anti-Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention Day" is to
engage empower and enlighten local residents on ways to "Promote a Safe and Drug- Free Community, while Bridging the Intergenerational Gaps to Reduce Underage Drinking, Substance Abuse and Senseless Violence"; and
WHEREAS, People of prayer, hope, faith, commitment and leadership are encourage to support the mission of" Community Day" and work together to bring sustainable, positive change to West Garfield Park; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this fourteenth day of October, 2015 express our unconditional love, gratitude and assure unwavering support to one another and most importantly to hereby salute West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders and extend our best wishes for continued success; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this resolution is to be presented to
West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders as they cetebrate many years of service, as a token of our
esteem and good wishes. / /
