RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Bruce Goldstein is a retired Chicago Park District Supervisor whose years of dedicated service providing sports programs and developing future recreational leaders has contributed greatly to the fabric ofthe 26th Ward community; and
WHEREAS, Bruce Goldstein was recently honored by park patrons at a special luncheon recognizing his lifetime of achievements; and
WHEREAS, Bruce Goldstein admirably served from 1978 to 1984 as the Playground Supervisor of Mozart Park, 2036 North Avers Avenue hosting annual variety shows and mentoring young people by helping shape their lives through positive recreational activities; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Bruce Goldstein, the floor hockey, junior boys' basketball, and junior boys flag football teams earned the titles of area and citywide champions; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his long and illustrious career, Bruce Goldstein also was the Supervisor for Pulaski Park where he organized community events and as the Supervisor for Lake Shore Park organized adult softball and worked the Air and Water Show; and
WHEREAS, Since 2004, Bruce Goldstein has continued his community involvement as a substitute teacher at Nixon Elementary School where he has taught pre-kindergarten through 6th grade students as well as gym, art, music, and health classes; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor, and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this 20th day of July 2022, do hereby commend, and offer our sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Bruce Goldstein for a lifetime of achievement and valued service to his community; and
