RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, The Dominican American National Foundation (DANF) is a 501 (C)3 nonprofit organization. Established nearly thirty years ago, the DANF's mission is to infuse Latino culture into the fabric of American society through the celebration of Hispanic cultural heritage, achievements, and accomplishments on a national platform with professional sports teams; and,

 

WHEREAS, The cornerstone ofthe foundation's efforts is centered around its' trademarked "Dominican Heritage Night" concept that is activated with professional sports teams from every major sports league in the country; and,

 

WHEREAS, These cultural exchange experiences bring musically driven cultural displays as a celebration of Dominican heritage and excellence. The foundation uses these sporting events as a platform to generate awareness of the societal contributions from Latinos in the United States, while turning their same communities into active contributors to their own success; and,

WHEREAS, On Friday, July 13, 2018, DANF will be holding their Dominican Heritage Night experience at the Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox; and now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered this 27th day of June, 2018 AD call public attention to the Dominican American National Foundation to commemorate this Chicago White Sox event being held on July 13, 2018 as:

 

DOMINICAN HERITAGE NIGHT

 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and
presented to the Dominican American National Foundation.
