RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mari D. Terman has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-seven; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mari D. Terman was a widely admired North Shore civic leader and the devoted wife for fifty-three years of Dr. David; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mari D. Terman was the much-adored mother of Mark, Dr. Eric and Anne and the grandmother of six; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mari D. Terman the dear sister of John DeCosta and Louise Wides; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mari D. Terman ably served from 2005 to 2011 as a Trustee of the Wilmette Village Board and was a former member of the village's fire and police commission; and
WHEREAS, Raised in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, the Honorable Mari D. Terman graduated from Radcliffe College and received a master's degree in business administration from Northwestern University; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mari D. Terman joined what is now Rush University Medical Center in the early 1980s; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mari D. Terman retired from Rush in 2003 as the head of the departments of utilization and admitting; and
WHEREAS, In 2010, the Honorable Mari D. Terman played an instrumental role in launching North Shore Village, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing support for seniors in Evanston, Skokie and Wilmette who wish to stay in their homes; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Mari D. Terman serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Mari D. Terman imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of February, 2013, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Mari D. Terman for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family...
