RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Henry "Heinz" Baerman has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of ninety; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Henry "Heinz" Baerman was the loving husband for sixty-seven years of Margrit; and
WHEREAS, Henry "Heinz" Baerman was the much-adored father of Ruth and Jeffrey and the grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A native of Simmern, Germany, Henry "Heinz" Baerman was a Holocaust survivor; and
WHEREAS, After his liberation by Allied forces, Henry "Heinz" Baerman and his wife married in Germany; and
WHEREAS, The couple immigrated to Chicago where he worked as a mechanic and service manager for Beverly Chrysler; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago Jexirish News honored Henry "Heinz" Baerman and his wife for their Holocaust education efforts and included the couple in the newspaper's Chicagoans of the Year; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Henry "Heinz" Baerman serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Henry "Heinz" Baerman will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Henry "Heinz" Baerman imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifteenth day of January, 2014, do hereby commemorate
Henry "Heinz" Baerman for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Henry "Heinz" Baerman.
