RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, The Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago is a social and charitable organization led by volunteers in their 20's and 30's dedicated to the celebration of Irish culture; and

WHEREAS, Open to young people of all cultural backgrounds, the membership of the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago volunteer their time and donate to worthy local organizations to help make an impact on their community; and

WHEREAS, This year marks the 42nd anniversary of Forever Green, one of Chicago's largest and longest running St. Patrick's Day celebrations; and

WHEREAS, Forever Green will be held on March 17, 2017 at the Chicago Cultural Center in Chicago and will benefit The Andrew Weishar Foundation; and

WHEREAS, The Andrew Weishar Foundation supports the mission of providing immediate resources to the families of adolescents or young adults suffering from cancer, and March4Meg , an organization which supports people dealing with melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer; now, therefore.

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this 22nd day of February, 2017, do hereby recognize the Young Irish Fellowship of Chicago for their good work throughout the Chicago metropolitan area; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a parchment copy of this resolution be presented to the YoungJrteh Fellowship Club of Chicago.
