WHEREAS, Dwain Lamar Linear was called to his final resting place on March 22, 2016

and

WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been notified of Dwain Linear's death by the Honorable Alderman Emma Mitts of the 37lh Ward; and

WHEREAS, Dwain Lamar Linear was the first born child of William Charles Linear and Phyllis Julia Linear. He was born on August 12, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois. Two years later his sister Debra was born; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Linear attended St. Ignatius and Holy Trinity High Schools in Chicago. He attended the University of Illinois in Champaign and pledged lota Phi Theta; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Linear was employed by the City of Chicago's Department of Streets & Sanitation for 26 years. He was also a successful entrepreneur starting two businesses: pest control and property management; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Linear was baptized at a very young age. He was an active member of Mount Hebron Church. Dwain Linear joined the Loyal Order of Freemasons and he was a 33rd Degree Past Worshipful Master; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Linear was a devoted family man, an outstanding father and mentor to his three sons Dion, Dwain and Demitrius; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Linear was a leader, life-long learner and loved to travel. His caring spirit and commitment will be warmly remembered; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Linear leaves to cherish his memory his: parents; sister; sons; granddaughter, Dionne Tatiyana Evans; nephew, Michael Taylor Ross; and significant other, Gloria Pittman; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth day of April, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Dwain Lamar Linear and extend to his family our sincere condolences; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Dwain Lamar Linear.
