MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned ofthe death of Paul Martens on November 21, 2013, at the age of 81; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 17, 1932, Paul was an active and vital member of his community. The beloved husband of Veronica "Vera", nee Walla; loving father of Pamela (Richard Bonow), Patrice (Thomas) Busleta and Michael (Elizabeth); dearest grandpa of Christine and Daniel (Lana) Busleta, the late John Paul Martens and Joshua, Joseph, Benjamin and Caleb Martens, Rick Bonow and great-grandpa of Ricky Bonow; fond brother of the late Rita (the late Jack) and the late Carol (Buzz) Tipples, Paul leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Paul will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eleventh day of December 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Paul Martens and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
