MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Norah G. Brennan, nee Moylan, on July 15, 2013, at the age of 91; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, The beloved wife of the late Anthony; loving mother of Maureen (the late Tony Keane), Eileen (Fred) Millard, Sheila, Noreen, and Kevin (Elaine); dear "Gramma Norah" of Connor and Sam Millard, Tyler and Dylan Brennan; treasured aunt, grand-aunt and friend of many, Norah leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS, Born on March 25, 1922, in Tubber in County Galway, Ireland, to the late John and Mary Ann Moylan, Norah was the youngest of ten children, all of whom preceded her in death; and
 
WHEREAS, Norah was a member of St. Edward Parish and a founding member of the Irish American Heritage Center, where a commemorative stone in front ofthe building bears her name;
 
WHEREAS, Norah will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-fourth day of July 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Norah G. Brennan and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Norah G. Brennan as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
