RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Salvatore Ferrara II has gone to his eternal reward at the age of 63; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Oak Brook, Salvatore Ferrara II was a widely admired member of the business community and the loving husband of Andrea, nee Gioe; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore Ferrara II was the much-adored father of Nello II, Alana and the late Bobby, the step-father of Erik, and the grandfather of three; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore Ferrara II was the dear and devoted brother of Serajean and Nella; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore Ferrara II ably served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ferrara Pan Candy Company in Forest Park; and
WHEREAS, The company was founded by his grandfather in 1908 on Taylor Street in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood and was the maker of Lemonheads, Boston-Baked Beans, Red Hots and other popular candy products; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore Ferrara II oversaw the growth and expansion of the company which merged with Farley's and Sather's Candy Company in 2012 and became known as the Ferrara Candy Company; and
WHEREAS, Salvatore Ferrara II was an avid yachtsman and enjoyed spending time in Naples, Florida; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Salvatore Ferrara II serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Salvatore Ferrara II to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Salvatore Ferrara II was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Salvatore Ferrara II imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
