WHEREAS, Refik Mustafa departed this present life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been notified of his passing by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman of the 48th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Refik Mustafa survived by his wife Sadet, his mother, two sisters, three children Bari, Nermin & Ridvan, seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and daughter-in-law
WHEREAS Refik Mustafa was a vital and active member of the City of Chicago. Journeying from his native Macedonia to the United States, Refik and his new bride Sadet, in 1969, decided to call Chicago their home, and
WHEREAS, over time, Refik developed an undeniable love for the Chicago Cubs. He could be found on game days in Wrigieyville cheering on his favorite team with a cold beer in his hand and a Cubs hat on his head; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day of October 31, 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Refik Mustafa and extend to his family and friends, our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Refik Mustafa.
