Bf&AS , Sergeant Keith Walthall has retired as a City of Chicago Police Officer and Sergeant with the Chicago Police Department after thirty years of dedicated service to the people of the City of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Walthall has not only demonstrated excellence in public service but has also upheld a commitment to the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Keith Walthall, Badge #1298, began his illustrious career with the Chicago Police Department in 1985 as a young patrolman in the 5th District Pullman Roseland area; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Walthall's dedication to the community led him to the 22nd District Morgan Park CAPS office where he ran one of the most successful Young Explorers program in the city; and
WHEREAS, After serving the CAPS community for 12 years. Sergeant Walthall was selected to the Mayor's personal security detail in 1998 where he honorably served until he was promoted to Sergeant in 2001; and
WHEREAS, As a young officer, Sergeant Walthall was assigned to the Housing Unit where he led a team of tactical officers to reduce crime in the Chicago Housing Authority's South Side Division; and
WHEREAS, Due to Sergeant Walthall's excellent dedication to the City of Chicago he was called to City Hall to serve as Sergeant of the Mayor's Office / City Council Detail; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Walthall is a role model for young people in the City of Chicago like his sons Michael and Marcus and grandson Jaylen...
