"Connect 4 Promoting Community Togetherness" DAY IN CHICAGO
WHEREAS, on August 20th, 2011, Quad Communities Development Corporation (QCDC) will sponsor the "Connect 4 Promoting Community Togetherness" community Business & Historic Trolley Tours in the Bronzeville Community.
WHEREAS, QCDC, a 501© 3 community-based organization, was formed to plan, guide, support and monitor human infrastructure and community development activities that will create a sustainable, healthy, mixed-income neighborhood for the communities of North Kenwood, Oakland, parts of Douglas and Grand Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the "Connect 4 Trolley Tours' goal is to create a visual event that highlights and documents the important contributors and contributions, achievements and achievers of the 4 components that make a successful community; business, political will, community, and beautification.
WHEREAS, We have named the event Connect 4, connecting the four neighborhoods ofthe 4th ward; Kenwood, Oakland, Douglas and Grand Boulevard. The vehicle for documentation will be visual art and knowledgeable presenters speaking on the 4 important components for a successful community.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and members of the City Council in meeting
assembled this 28th Day of July, 2011_d0 hereby proclaim Saturday August
20th, 2011 to be "The Connect 4 Promoting Community Togetherness" Day to formally acknowledge the efforts by many to revitalize the Cottage Grove Corridor, Bronzeville and Quad Communities Respectively;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be presented to Quad Communities Development Corporation.
