Resolution

Whereas, Sheli Lulkin, a valued and committed member of the Edgewater community, passed away on December 18, 2016; and

Whereas, Sheli served as the Executive Director of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce for many years; and

Whereas, Sheli championed community policing in order to create safe environments for small and minority businesses in the Edgewater neighborhood; and

Whereas, Sheli led programs to bring large-scaling recycling to Edgewater and advocated for immigrants and minorities to create an open and diverse neighborhood; and

Whereas, Sheli was a strong advocate for condominium owners in the community and state of Illinois, and served as president of the Association of Sheridan Condo and Co-op Owners (ASCO) for many years; and

Whereas, Sheli was a beloved family member and friend to many.

Now, be it resolved, that the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this 22^nd day of February, 2017, do hereby honor Sheli Lulkin for her contributions to the community.
