CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES OF CHICAGO
WHEREAS, On Wednesday, March 18, 2015, Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago will host its annual awards dinner, NHS@40 Deep Roots, Still Growing; and
WHEREAS, this esteemed body has been made aware of this occasion by the Honorable Bob Fioretti, Alderman of the 2nd Ward; and
WHEREAS, this year, the event celebrates the 40th anniversary of Neighborhood Housing Service of Chicago and brings together more than 700 guests, raising more than $450,000 to support the goals of NHS; and
WHEREAS, Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago offers Chicago residents affordable resources for buying, fixing, and keeping their homes through community partnerships between residents, businesses and governments; and
WHEREAS, a tremendous asset to the community, NHS has leveraged over a billion dollars in investment in Chicago's neighborhoods and assisted more than 200,000 families; and
WHEREAS, the annual dinner not only brings in funds for the organization, but also bring together friends and supporters for an evening of dinner and socializing that honors the great work of Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eighteenth day of March, 2015, do hereby express our gratitude for the forty years of service to the community by Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago and congratulate them on a successful event.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago.
