SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2014 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the Ciy for various purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Public Health ("Health") has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $1,588,000 by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") which shall be used for the Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through Health has been awarded additional state grant funds in the amount of $15,000 by the Illinois Department of Public Health which shall be used for the Tobacco Free Communities Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Family and Support Services has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $755,000 by HUD which shall be used for the Emergency Solutions Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Planning and Development has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $502,000 by HUD which shall be used for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program; and
WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Police has been awarded federal grant funds in the amount of $40,000 by the Illinois Department of Human Services which shall be used for the Chicago Juvenile Justice Council; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. The sum of $2,900,000, not previously appropriated, representing increased grant awards, is hereby appropriated from Fund 925- Grant Funds for the year 2014. The Annual Appropriation Ordinance is...
