WHEREAS, A Safe Haven was established in 1994 by the co-founders Brian Rowland and Neli Vazquez Rowland. A Safe Haven is a social business enterprise non-profit that partners with a network of public private partnerships to help people aspire, transform and sustain their lives from homelessness to self sufficiency with pride and purpose. A Safe Haven provides the tools for over 5,000 people a year through a network of 33 locations and counting to help each individual to overcome the root causes of homelessness through a holistic, scalable model. A Safe Haven's visible social and economic impact unites families, stabilizes neighborhoods, and creates vibrant, viable communities in a sustainable manner; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City council has been informed of this by 18Ih Ward Alderman Lona Lane; and
WHEREAS, A Safe Haven believe it is important to assess, address, and assist each individual to overcome their challenges by not only providing food and shelter, but based on their individual needs and goals provide other services that include treatment, education, life skills, employment training, job placement, and permanent affordable housing; and
