RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Henriette "Etty" Allen has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 90; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Henriette "Etty" Allen was the loving and devoted wife of George Allen who served as defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears in the 1960's; and
WHEREAS, Henriette "Etty" Allen was the much-adored mother of Jennifer, Bruce, Gregory and the Honorable George to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of an anti-Nazi resistance fighter, Henriette "Etty" Allen was a devoted and enthusiastic football wife and mother; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Henriette "Etty" Allen serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Henriette "Etty" Allen to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Henriette "Etty" Allen imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of January, 2013, do hereby commemorate Henriette "Etty" Allen for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
BEIT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be presented to the family of Henriette "Etty" Allen.
