SALUTE TO PASTOR DR. DARLENE TAYLOR
WHEREAS, for more than three decades, Pastor Dr. Darlene Taylor has served as a minister. She was ordained in 2000 under the tutelage of the late Bishop Arthur Brazier of the Apostolic Church of God and as co-founder of Salvation Church of God in the Chatham Community, and
WHEREAS, in 2013, Dr. Taylor founded God First Ministries which is a ministry support group for Pastor's wives. For more than 18 years, she has served commendably within the Chatham community, providing youth ministry and outdoor youth experiences as well as promoting back to school programs beside her husband, Apostle Jerry Taylor. Dr. Taylor currently serves as the chief administrator of the Apostolic Kingdom Network that ministers to Pastors and churches across the U.S. and in Africa and India; and
WHEREAS, the Honorable Roderick Sawyer, Alderperson of the 6th Ward, has informed this august body that, on the occasion of their 21st Anniversary of their pastorate, the Salvation Church of God, located at 75 E. 83rd Street, designated Sunday, June 13, 2021, to honor them for their many remarkable accomplishments and contributions they have made to their congregants and the quality of life in the Chatham community they serve so well; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that we the mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered this 23rd Day of June 2021 AD, do hereby salute Pastor Dr. Diane Taylor and Apostle Jerry Taylor for their outstanding commitment to their ministry and community as well as extend our heartiest congratulations on being so honored by their congregants.
