CELEBRATION OF THE SIXTEENTH ANNUAL KOREAN STREET FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, The Chicago Korean American Chamber of Commerce, the Korean Festival Planning Committee and the City of Chicago are hosting the Sixteenth Annual Korean Street Festival on August 13 and 14, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this special occasion by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward and The Honorable Patrick O'Connor, Alderman of the 40th Ward; and
WHEREAS, This year's festival is expected to be the largest one yet and will draw well over fifty thousand people to Bryn Mawr Avenue, between Kedzie and Kimball Avenues, to enjoy the celebration of the Korean culture; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of the City of Chicago are very proud of the long history of Chicago as a city of immigrants and embrace the cultural celebrations that express the vibrant nature of our great city; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this sixth day of July, 2011, do hereby extend our best wishes to the Korean American Chamber of Commerce and the Korean Festival Planning Committee, for the success of Chicago's Sixteenth Annual Korean Street Festival; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Chicago Korean American Chamber of Commerce and the Korean Festival Planning Committee.
