ORDINANCE

 

WHEREAS,. Section 55-28 ofthe Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act, codified at,4l'0 ILCS 705/1 - i et seq., authorizes the legal voters of any precinct within a municipality with a population of over 50G\000 to petition their local alderman, in conformity with procedural requirements set forth in Section 55-28, to introduce an ordinance establishing the precinct as a restricted cannabis zone; and

 

WHEREAS, The requisite procedural requirements have been met; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

 

•SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 55-28 ofthe Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act ("the Act"), the 13th Precinct of the 13th Ward of the City of Chicago, as described herein, is hereby designated as a restricted cannabis zone within the meaning of Section 55-28 of the Act. Home cultivation and all new or additional cultivation centers, craft growers, processing organizations, infuser organizations, dispensing organizations, and transporting organizations shall be prohibited within the boundaries of such 13th Precinct, with such boundaries beginning at the intersection of South Lawler Avenue and West 63rd Street, thence east on West 63rd Street to South Cicero Avenue, thence south on South Cicero Avenue to West 65th Street, thence west on West 65th Street to South Leclaire Avenue, thence north on South Leclaire Avenue to West 64th Place, thence east on West 64th Place to South Lawler Avenue, thence north, northeast, and north on South Lawler Avenue to the place of beginning.

 

 

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take full force and effect upon its passage and publication, and shall remain in effect for four years following its effective date.
