TRIBUTE TO DAISY MAE RANDLE
WHEREAS, In His Infinite Wisdom, Almighty God has granted Daisy Mae Randle birth into eternity; and
WHEREAS, Daisy Mae Randle was born August 30, 1961 in Lexington, Mississippi to the union of Willie Mae Thomas-Randle and the late Emmett Randle, Sr. she grew up in the south side where she attended Edward H. White elementary school as well as Percy L. Julian High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and starter of Julian's varsity basketball team for all 4 years; and
WHEREAS, Daisy Mae Randle received a business degree from Olive-Haryey Junior College and also attended Illinois State University. She worked for the United States Postal Service at Chicago's Main Post Office as a mail handler. Eventually, she became a city carrier, working at the Morgan Park, Grand Crossing, Lakeview, and Ravenswood facilities. She averaged one of the fastest delivery times with the least complaints in the city; and
WHEREAS, Daisy Mae Randle had a skilled management style that was always fair and impartial. She rarely used excessive action concerning any customer or employee. Prior to being promoted to management, she had been an outstanding clerk, mail handler; truck driver and carrier for the United States Postal Service; and
WHEREAS, Daisy Mae Randle leaves to cherish her memories one son, Nicholas Jaamaal Randle; one daughter, Daphne Nicole Randle; two brothers, Emmett Randle, Jr. and Roosevelt Randle; a sister, Ella Simmons and her mother Willie Mae Thomas-Randle as well as a host of friends, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and relatives; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed ofthe passing of Daisy Mae Randle by the Honorable Carrie M. Austin Alderman of the 34th Ward; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled on this 4th day of May, 2011 AD, do hereby express our sincere sorrow at the passing of Daisy Mae Randle and extend our deepest condolences to h...
