RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Arlene M Coates has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 76 to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Arlene M. Coates, a lifelong resident of Chicago-Canaryville neighborhood and parishioner of St. Gabriel, passed away peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Loving mother of Michael Coates and Thomas. (Nicole) Coates; cherished grandmother of Corinne, Morgan, Michael, Thomas, and Patrick Coates; dearest sister of Barbara (late Morgan) McFarlane; fond aunt of Megan McFarlane and Francis McFarlane; fond great-aunt of Bailey Lovetere; beloved godmother and aunt of the late Catherine McFarlane, godmother of Daniel McCormick, and Michael Scanlon (CFD). Arlene was preceded in death by her parents George and Marie Coates nee Scanlon; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Arlene to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-six of January 2022, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Arlene M. Coates and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
