MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called Ella G. Schaller, born on February 26, 1916 and called by God to her eternal reward on July 3, 2011 at the age of 95; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Ella G. Schaller, the beloved wife ofthe late Henry Schaller, Jr., was an active and vital member of her community. The loving mother of Gail Ella (the late Robert) Gloede, of Grayslake, Illinois; dearestgrandmotherof Jason and Robert III (Eve) Gloede, and Donna (Robert) Skinner; dearest great-grandmother of Matthew (Amber) Skinner; great-great-grandmother of Justin, Lucas, and Brianna Skinner; preceded in death by her parents Alois and Agnes Chobot; and her siblings Antoinette, Charles, Edward, Alfred, Helen, Lillian, Joseph, Mildred, Edna, Baby Louis, and Baby Helen; also survived by many nieces and nephews, Ella G. Shaller leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Ella G. Schaller was a long time member and elder of Mayfair Presbyterian Church; 33 year service manager and secretary to the union for Jewel Food Stores; Assistant Superintendent for crafts and ceramics at the Lake County Fair;President of the Young at Hearts Club, and member of the Women's Democratic Organization; and
WHEREAS, Ella G. Schaller will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-eighth day of July, 2011, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Ella G. Schaller and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ella G. Schaller.
