RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of sixty-eight; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., was a widely admired Illinois legislator and the loving husband for forty-seven years of Dee; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., was the much-adored father of Mark and Bob and the grandfather of five to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities which he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Barrington Hills, the Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., represented the 52nd House District since 1996 and during his esteemed tenure earned a reputation as a leading advocate for fiscal responsibility; and
WHEREAS, The easy wit, quick smile and unpretentious wisdom of Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., made him a popular figure among his many colleagues in Springfield; and
WHEREAS, Prior to serving in the Illinois legislature, the Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., was a Lake County Board member and a Cuba Township Supervisor and enjoyed a successful career in both law and banking; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., was a descendant of Mark Beaubien, an early pioneer in whose Sauganash Hotel the Town of Chicago was incorporated in 1833; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends, and colleagues; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Mark Beaubien, Jr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this sixth day of July, 2011, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Mark Beaubien Jr., for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
