Title: Tribute to late Ernest Genghus Kyles, Jr.

WHEREAS, On Saturday, December 1, 2012, the Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom called to his eternal journey Ernest Genghus Kyles, Jr.; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed ofthis by 18th Ward Alderman Lona Lane; and
WHEREAS, Ernest Genghus was born on August 31, 1935. He was the youngest of six children from the union ofthe late Lucinda Shelman and Ernest Kyles, Sr.; and
WHEREAS, Ernest graduated from Argo Community High School in 1953. He enlisted in the United States Army in August, 1955 serving until he was honorably discharged in May, 1957. He was employed with Corn Products; he retired from CPC after 30 years of service. Ernest met and married Elnora Polk, to this union three sons were born, Dwight, Darwin and Ernest III. Later he married Ann Hodo and became the parents of Margaret Louise and Duane; and
WHEREAS, Ernest was preceded in death by four of his siblings, Mary Lois, Oliver, Joan and Robert; and leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Dwight, Darwin, and Ernest III (Leverta); one daughter, Finese; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Carr; a devoted companion and friend, Patricia Moody; nieces and nephews; special cousins, Mildred Thomas and Amanda; a host of other relatives, and friends; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this seventeenth day of January, 2013 A.D., do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Ernest Genghus Kyles Jr. and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be prepared and presented to Ernest Genghus Kyles' family.
