APPRECIATION IS EXTENDED TO IT. COLONELS RALPH AND SUSAN BUK1EW1CZ ON THEIR TERMS AS DIVISIONAL LEADERS OF THE SALVATION ARMY METROPOLITAN DIVISION
AND THEIR SERVICE TO CHICAGO
WHEREAS, Lt. Colonels Ralph and Susan Bukiewicz have served as Divisional Leaders for The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division, serving Northeastern Illinois and Northwest Indiana; and
WHEREAS, Lt. Colonels Ralph and Susan Bukiewicz have faithfully fulfilled the mission of The Salvation Army, of "meeting human needs in His name without discrimination" through the delivery of social services to people in need throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana; and
WHEREAS, Lt. Colonels Ralph and Susan Bukiewicz have led The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division during the Grand Opening and two successful years of operation of the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center on the Southwest Side of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Lt. Colonels Ralph and Susan Bukiewicz have led The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division's planning and groundbreaking of the new Freedom Center campus on the West Side of Chicago, which will provide substance abuse rehabilitation programs, community-based corrections programs and a new corps community center for the benefit of the residents of West Humboldt Park and surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, Lt. Colonels Ralph and Susan Bukiewicz have led The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division's launch of The Salvation Army's national Pathway of Hope case management initiative; and
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor, and the members of the Chicago City Council assembled this eighth day of October, 2014, do hereby congratulate Lt. Colonels Ralph and Susan Bukiewicz on their new respective appointments as Secretary for Personnel, and Officer Resource and Development Secretary, for The Central Territory of The Salvation Army, and we do hereby extend our best wishes for their continued success and accomplishment; and
