RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Angeline Kopka has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 100; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Angeline Kopka was a retired New Hampshire state lawmaker and the loving and devoted wife of the John; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Angeline Kopka was the much-adored mother of two children to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Angeline Kopka graduated from Nashua Business College and operated Kopka Real Estate; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Angeline Kopka served as the President of the National Women's Council of Realtors and the New Hampshire Association of Realtors; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Angeline Kopka was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2002 and served until 2010 when she was defeated for re-election; and
WHEREAS, A true trailblazer, the Honorable Angeline Kopka won re-election to office in 2012 becoming the oldest lawmaker in the United States; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Angeline Kopka retired from the legislature at the age of 98; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Angeline Kopka serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, the Honorable Angeline Kopka imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourteenth day of December, 2016, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Angeline Kopka for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
