THE CONCERNED CITIZENS OF 59th STREET

To:    The City Clerk of the City of Chicago From: Concerned Citizens of 59th st.
Subject Objection to proposed Special Service Area (SSA) Number 59 Date: October 08, 2012
CC:   The Committee on Finance of the Chicago City Council

To Whom It May Concern:
We the concerned citizens of 59th street would like to formally file our written objection to the proposed Special Service Area (SSA) Number 59 and the authorization of the levy of a special annual service tax within the area. ("AREA") The "area", is about one mile long, and it will include properties along both sides of 59th Street from Oakley St. to Homan Avenue including five blocks along Western Avenue from 56th to 61st Streets and three blocks along Kedzie Avenue from 57th to 61 st Streets

We the concerned citizens sees no benefit in the services to be rendered under the proposed SSA and finds the tax increase to be inappropriate for our business strategies and our general economics. We already are taking responsibility for the care of our own on-site security, landscaping, snow removal, and other items specified in the notice of public hearing as "Special Services" to be provided by the tax levy under SSA Number 59.
