Resolution

Whereas, Anastasia June Travlos passed away on November 1, 2016, at 91 years old; and

Whereas, June moved to the Edgewater neighborhood in 1964 with her husband Gus Travlos and recognized its untapped potential; and

Whereas, June worked tirelessly as a co-founder of the Edgewater Development Company to revitalize Edgewater; and

Whereas, June was a risk taker who believed that positive changes would be done if she showed other it was possible; and

Whereas, June is survived by two daughters, a son-in-law, and many devoted nieces and nephews; and

Whereas, June has made a significant contribution to the Edgewater community.

Now, be it resolved, that the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this 14th day of December, 2016, do hereby honor Anastasia June Travlos for her contributions to the community.
