MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Margaret Eleanor Atkinson, nee Termini, on December 31, 2013, at the age of sixty-nine; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on September 17, 1944, Margaret was the cherished wife of Robert; loving mother of George, Kathy (Mike) and Bob (Liz); loving daughter of the late Carl and Helen; loving grandmother of Brian, Ryan, Claire, Megan, Scotty and Maggie Faye;; cherished sister of John (Darlene), Joe (Elaine), Jimmy (Mary), Jerry and Carl Jr. (Patty); beloved sister-in4aw, aunt, shopping cohort and friend to many. Margaret leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Margaret was an active and vital member of her community who touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, generosity, heart and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Margaret will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth day of January 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Margaret Eleanor Atkinson and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret Eleanor Atkinson as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
