MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Cynthia "Cindy" Manfredini, on September 10, 2015, at the age of sixty; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, this devoted daughter of the late Massimo Manfredini and Lida Marchetti was the beloved spouse of Gary Rasmussen; loving mother of Shannon (Joseph) Pumilio; cherished grandmother of Victoria; dear sister of Lou (Mary Beth) Manfredini of Chicago; fond aunt to Quinn, Carmen, Mallory and Max; her Zia Rose Bernardi of Highland Park, Illinois; treasured cousin and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Cindy leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Cindy, who touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit A loving spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a courageous woman, fighting to the very end. She came to embrace her "purpose" in life after being diagnosed with a rare form of Stage IV ovarian cancer. Hoping to share her story with as many women as possible, she would pass out ovarian cancer information saying, "Know the signs ladies". She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-fourth day of September, 2015 , do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Cynthia "Cindy" Manfredini and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cynthia "Cindy" Manfredini as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
