MEMORIAL RESOLUTION IN HONOR OF SEASON FREDDIE LEON SAVAGE, JR.

WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called Freddie Leon Savage, Jr., an outstanding citizen and beloved friend, and from this life to eternity; and

WHEREAS, Freddie Leon Savage, Jr. was born October 20, 1932 in Wabbeska, Arkansas to the loving union of Freddie L. and Ruby Jewel Savage, Sr Freddie Leon was the eldest of ten wonderful children who brought happiness into the Savage Family home; and

WHEREAS, The Savage Family moved to Chicago in 1943 and later Freddie and his siblings were enrolled and attended George Washington Carver Elementary School. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and Christ as his Divine Savior. Freddie Leon Savage, Jr., an ambitious, determined and hard working young man was employed after school at the Roseland Bowling alley and later at the Pershing Hotel as a bellman. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1951; and

WHEREAS, In 1955 Freddie L. Savage, Jr. met his soul mate, Yvonne E. Savage they were united in marriage on February 8, 1958. Freddie L. Savage III, Sherri J. Savage and Britt L. Savage were the three wonderful children born to this loving and devoted couple. On October 12, 1970 Freddie L. Savage and Yvonne E. Savage established the Chesterfield Tom Thumb Day Care Center; and

WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Freddie was a member of South Shore United Methodist Church. He served faithfully for over 40 years in various capacities. He was an usher, board member of the trustees and the child care center, the food pantry and his commitment to youth led him to a distinguished leader as the Scout Master of Troop 1500. He gave tirelessly of his time and energies to the young and the old; and

WHEREAS, Much loved by everyone, Freddie Leon Savage, Jr. will be deeply missed especially by his children, Freddie L. Savage, III (Dionne), Sherril J. Savage and Britt L. Savage, two grandchildren, Alford L. Taylor and Shaniece S. Savage;...
